Melinda Seley, LPC

Melinda is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri, with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary and a B.E. in Computer Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Prior to pursuing her passion of caring for hurting people via counseling, she worked for several years as a professional engineer.  Melinda also has experience as a therapist at an eating disorder treatment center.

“I have experience working with a range of issues including those relating to eating disorders, body image, depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, grief and loss, family-of-origin issues, marital conflict, perfectionism, anger, and managing stress.

I care deeply about people and love the uniqueness of each of our stories, personalities, passions, and context of life.  We were made to be known and connected in relationship; however, fear, shame, and hurt often steal our joy and affect our relationship with ourselves, others, and God and we grasp to find ways to cope with disappointments, heartaches, loss, and stress.

I hope to give you a safe place to be known and that we, together, can work to find healing in and redemption of the really hard places in your life.  Change and growth can be hard and yet I firmly believe they are possible.  You are not alone and there is hope.  It would be a privilege for me to walk with you on your journey towards healing and wholeness.”

Kathi Wallace, LPC, RPT, EMDR

Kathi WallaceKathi graduated from Covenant Theological Seminary with a MA in Counseling and a BA from Cedarville University in Behavioral Science. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri and is certified as a Registered Play Therapist. She has also completed training for EMDR level’s 1 & 2 and is trained to combine EMDR with sand tray work for both children and adults. Preceding her work as a therapist, Kathi was employed as house parent at a residential treatment center for troubled teens and a houseparent at a children’s home.  She was active many years as a coach for YMCA sports and as teacher of total health, PE and Psychology.

Kathi uses expressive therapy with children, teens, young adults and families as a means to helping them share their story.  She also finds that adults who experienced difficult life adjustments or trauma as children also can benefit from expressive therapies (art, clay, therapy games, sand tray work, etc.) as a way of connecting with the past challenges to bring joy and peace into the present. Kathi also uses talk therapies to create a safe space where one can tell their story in his/her own words.

“Counseling is a process where we learn to trust someone who is trained to help us draw from our deep well of experiences and make sense of them in new light. When we bring our children or families in for therapy we need encouragement in what we’re doing well and gracious nudging to try new things where life’s obstacles seem to have us stuck.  Let’s look deep within, reach up for hope and move forward together.”

Kathi brings hope that a gracious counseling experience can bring healing to one emotionally, spiritually and behaviorally. She and her husband have raised 2 daughters and had a foster son.  She loves kayaking, lap swimming, baking, playing with her dog and spending quality time with her friends and family.
