Katie is an intern at Avenues Counseling Center and a graduate student at Covenant Theological Seminary pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri.
Katie works with individuals of all ages facing anxiety, relational issues, grief and loss, and complex family dynamics and/or family of origin issues. Her approach is through the lens that the therapeutic relationship is designed to serve as a secure environment where healing enables clients to acquire the skills necessary to cultivate deep, healthy, and fulfilling relationships in their lives. Katie’s therapeutic process integrates family systems therapy, client-centered approaches, attachment theory, as well as cognitive approaches.
“It’s my greatest honor and privilege to be invited into a person’s world so intimately. Each person’s world looks different, but everyone’s world has pain in it. I hope to provide a safe space for clients to be able to navigate their pain and to be a person to walk with them through it because we aren’t supposed to go it alone and everyone deserves to know and feel that truth.”
Katie is supervised by Josh Lozano.
