Avenues Counseling offers group counseling for those wanting to work through the healing process in a community with others dealing with the same struggles.
Creative Coping: Art & Emotion Regulation | Ages 10-12
Join us for this fun and supportive group is designed for youth who need extra help with handling big emotions and developing stronger social skills. Through a creative blend of DBT-adapted tools, art therapy, and play-based activities, youth will learn to better understand themselves and others. Each session offers a safe space for self-expression and emotional exploration, helping participants build confidence and resilience through hands-on creativity.

In this group, they will learn:

  • How to recognize and express feelings through art
  • Coping strategies for big emotions using creative tools
  • Positive ways to connect with others
  • Emotion regulation in everyday situations

Cost

  • $60 per group session ($120 per week)
  • One-time art fee of $20 per group participant
  • Insurance accepted
  • Scholarships available

Creative Calm | A Week-Long, Half-Day Art Therapy Summer Camp for ages 13 - 17
A creative and supportive space where teens use art to reduce stress, build confidence, and learn real-life skills for handling big emotions. No art experience needed — just a willingness to create, connect, and grow.

Through hands-on projects, campers will practice:

  • Staying present instead of overwhelmed
  • Managing intense emotions
  • Coping with stressful moments
  • Communicating in healthy ways

3 Camps offered | Monday - Friday | 9:30 AM - 1 PM

  • Session 1: June 8 - 12 | North County office
  • Session 2: July 6 - 10 | Richmond Heights office
  • Session 2: August 3-7 | Richmond Heights office

Each day includes:

  • A guided art project
  • Time to connect with peers
  • Practical tools teens can use beyond camp

Cost

  • $375 per camp session
  • Payment plans and scholarships are available upon request
