Chardonnay is currently a graduate student receiving a Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri Baptist University. She also holds a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Jackson State University, and has dedicated much time to furthering her continued education as she begins her internship here at Avenues Counseling.
Chardonnay works with a variety of ages from adolescents to adults, and a multitude of cultural backgrounds. She walks alongside those struggling through transitional time periods, anxiety, abuse, depression, identity, grief, relational trauma, and cultural issues. She collaborates in the cultivation of a peace that clients reach for in turmoil. Her hopes are to help people build resilience and empower people to remain open to discovering new things about themselves. Chardonnay uses the basis of a cognitive approach and various integration of client-centered, and experiential approaches. In life we all need support, and Chardonnay aims to develop a radiating environment of healing as she embarks on the start of her professional journey.
“Many people need not just counselors but people who will listen, seek to understand, and show them a glimpse of love in their lives, and that’s the kind of counselor I aim to be. To be a true leader in your community, you have to be a student of your community, who learns, identifies, and tends to the needs of those who are following you. Let us honor the stories behind us and find steps to move forward with courage, and openness to writing a new future.”
